Diaconal Conference
A diaconal conference (or committee) is a gathering of deacons who represent the different diaconates within a classis. A diaconal conference promotes the ministry of deacons through the following activities:
- Mutual sharing by deacons about their ministry
- Opportunities for learning and training
- Identifying community ministry opportunities
Other activities carried out by a conference / committee may include:
- Provide assistance to ministries supported by Operation Manna
- Host events to encourage and equip ministry leaders of the church
- Communicate and report to classis
- Promote refugee ministry with CRWRC
- Promote stewardship with Christian Stewardship Services
- Promote social justice with the Office of Social Justice
