DMC’s workshops address key components of diaconal ministry and are designed to provide understanding and growth for participants in diaconal ministry. The workshops are the result of much research and discussion. They are interactive and require time and effort to complete. Clarity and focus in diaconal ministry is the outcome. Being a Deacon Workshops
Deacons respond to God’s call to make a difference in the lives of people who need His compassionate care. The following workshops provide ideas and assistance for newer deacons, those with some experience, and those who have served several terms. These workshops develop the hearts and hands of deacons. They can help develop a vision in the diaconate for new goals, plans to attain the goals and clarity for each deacon’s participation. Our DMDs are available and willing to facilitate these workshops with a diaconate or a larger group.
Participating in Community Ministry Workshops
God opens many doorways for ministry in our community. Deacons have an opportunity to participate in the work God is already doing.
Deacons can identify ministry opportunities in the community so that members build relationships with those who live in the community. Deacons may initiate ways in which their church can work with other agencies or churches on a joint project to meet a need or accomplish a task. Deacons may encourage the reshaping of existing church programs to attract community residents. These workshops will enable deacons to inspire congregations to be a compassionate presence in their community.
