Visiting
Visiting is the heart of a deacon's work. Deacons visit as representatives of God, the "Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves have received."  (2 Cor. 1: 3-4)

In this workshop, deacons discuss how a deacon in a visit may serve as a channel of Christ's love and concern. Deacons will discover:

• who to visit and our openness for a helpful response
• how to listen
• how to explore needs
• how to build prayer into a visit
• how to share words of hope
